Bishop of Killaloe, Fintan Monahan, has defended the diocese’s use of artificial intelligence to create images of Jesus Christ and the four evangelists for its online ministry. The AI-generated images have sparked debate about the role of technology in religious life, creativity and how we visualise sacred figures. Bishop Monahan says AI can be a valuable tool in spreading the Gospel, provided it complements rather than replaces human interaction.
