Called to Draw Near
How can a holy God dwell among sinful people? That question stands at the heart of Leviticus. Far from being merely a collection of ancient and obscure regulations, Leviticus reveals a God who graciously makes a way for His people to draw near. Through sacrifice and atonement, God addresses the seriousness of sin and calls His redeemed people to reflect His holiness. Ultimately, these sacrifices point beyond themselves to Jesus Christ, whose once-for-all sacrifice accomplishes what they could only anticipate. Understanding Leviticus helps us better understand the gospel—and calls us to respond to God's grace with reverence, gratitude, and lives that reflect His character.
