Spilling Tea, Invading Moonbounces, and Erling Haaland | with Rosebud Baker

Hello! It's the podcast that's ready for Team USA's real World Cup to start in about 11 months. Today. Katie and the Casualties discuss the USMNT's Round of 16 exit against Belgium, the positives in it all (there's really not a lot) and the ragebait we need to avoid, a conspiracy theory about the president's involvement, Paraguay's loss to France and their politician being about as racist as possible towards Kylian Mbappe, Canada's loss to Morocco and coach Jesse Marsch's unhinged postgame comments, Switzerland's bland win over Colombia, Norway taking down Brazil and the joys of Erling Haaland, Ronaldo's career likely ending against Spain, the controversial Argentina comeback against Egypt, and an absolute banger between England and Mexico at Estadio Azteca and Jordan Henderson pulling off a feat we never thought we'd see in a World Cup. Then, comedian Rosebud Baker joins the show [45:28] to talk about her memoir, her skeletons in her grandparents' closets, her sports fandom and the Knicks championship run, parenting a toddler and her potential sports futures from MMA to shot put, her own parents trying to get her into soccer, cheerleading, dance team, and biceps workouts, the wild story of Spurts broadcaster Jacob Tobey and the lessons Rosebud wants all women to take from it, the dystopia of predictions markets, her post-divorce Seahawks fandom, Real Housewives as sports, writing for SNL, Megan Thee Stallion, Keke Palmer, Travis Kelce, Dean Blandino, and Justin Bieber, and a rundown of just which remaining World Cup team Rosebud might enjoy watching most. And the team wraps with your best e-mails and voicemails of the week.
