Field Hockey, Bleaching It, and End-of-the-World Smokes | with Beth Stelling

Hello! It's the podcast bringing you your annual allegory of Doc Emrick smut, right here, right now. Today, Katie and the Casualties get into Thanksgiving and plugging our Thanksgiving episode, the Spanish soccer president and why we should supported the return of public eggings, an upcoming episode dedicated to the intersection of spicy hockey fiction and the NHL's latest controversies, a shout out to Sports? fans and Ashley's hall pass, Bryce Harper's new look, and the NFL driving us to take the side of report cards. Then, comedian Beth Stelling joins the show [18:30] to talk about her comedy career, her field hockey career, the US Masters squad and her silver medal at the Pan Am Continental Cup, being "in the zone" in sports versus comedy, going to college at Miami but not THAT Miami, the rise of crowd work comedians and whether that's been bad for comedy in general, playing field hockey into her 60's, airport lounges, cigarettes for the apocalypse, scaring young people, what anyone turning 40 can learn from Lebron, Matthew Stafford, Clayton Kershaw, and the old men of the year, throwing a first pitch and learning to critique yourself as both an athlete and a comedian, Erin Matson and the USA Field Hockey controversy of the 2024 Olympics, Bill Belichick attending an adult cheerleading competition on Sunday, porn, Mormon Housewives, bleaching it, and where to find Beth's comedy. And then the team wraps with a look at another week of Isabella's unstoppable fantasy football team, and finding an inconsequential replacement for JK Dobbins.
