What Kinds of Bread Can Be Used for the Eucharist?
A listener named Bobbie asks Father Dave about what type of bread is allowed to be consecrated during Mass. "I went to Mass at a church in San Jose, California and received communion. The priest [presiding at] Mass consecrated a loaf of bread, and as we walked up to receive the Eucharist we were instructed to take a piece, albeit small," she says. "I have never seen [this practice] since — Is that actually permitted?"
