The Marble Faun and A Green Bough

Presented as a first Random House edition that photographically reproduces the original publications. The publisher's note details their initial release by The Four Seas Company and Harrison Smith and Robert Haas, respectively, with A Green Bough also having a limited signed edition. The Marble Faun begins with a preface by Phil Stone that describes the poems as youthful and deeply rooted in the author's Mississippi home, emphasizing his natural talent and apprenticeship to other poets. Both collections feature individual poems exploring themes of nature, life, death, and human experience, often personifying natural elements and reflecting on existence through various perspectives.
