The Dark Messiah: Magick, Gnosis and Religion

A non-fiction exploration of the intersections between mysticism, magick, and organized religion, with a primary focus on the Roman Catholic Church. The author argues that religious miracles and paranormal phenomena are essentially identical, suggesting that monotheistic faiths have magickal roots despite their efforts to suppress "unofficial" supernatural events. By examining topics ranging from biblical anomalies like the Ark of the Covenant to the occult practices of alchemy and exorcism, Allan posits that the power to alter reality through will is a universal human trait. He highlights how religious institutions use dogma to sanitize certain rituals while condemning similar acts as demonic. Ultimately, the text encourages readers to look past cultural brainwashing to understand the common esoteric mechanisms underlying both ancient scripture and modern mystical experiences.
