Morgan, Richard - Takeshi Kovacs 03 - Woken Furies

The provided text centers on Takeshi Kovacs, an Envoy, as he navigates a complex and dangerous world, initially seeking his "fucking body back" from an individual named Plex, who has seemingly double-crossed him regarding his original sleeve. Kovacs finds himself entangled with a group of revolutionaries, including Sylvie Oshima, who may or may not be the legendary Quellcrist Falconer. Throughout the narrative, Kovacs encounters various factions: the ruthless First Families, the yakuza, and other former Envoys like Todor Murakami, each with their own agendas related to powerful technologies and political control. The story involves intense action sequences, betrayals, and philosophical discussions about identity, consciousness transfer, and the future of humanity in a technologically advanced, yet often brutal, society. As Kovacs works with Sylvie's crew and uncovers deeper conspiracies, he also confronts personal demons and the echoes of his past, including another version of himself and a woman named Nadia Makita, whose connection to him is deeply significant. The narrative culminates in a confrontation with powerful entities and a growing understanding of the revolutionary forces at play, with Kovacs ultimately aligning himself with a cause far larger than his initial personal quest.
