Happiness

The provided Book consists of excerpts from Denis Robert's novel, Happiness, translated by John Innes. The passages offer intimate glimpses into the intense and complex affair between a married writer and an unnamed woman. Their relationship is characterized by a preoccupation with sex, exploring themes of desire, control, and the blurring lines between pleasure and pain. The narrative unfolds through a series of encounters, phone calls, and reflections, revealing the characters' inner thoughts and motivations. The novel appears to dissect the nature of their connection, questioning the meaning of happiness and the pursuit of extreme experiences. Krishnamurti's quote at the beginning suggests a central theme of seeking escape and temporary self-forgetfulness through sexual activity.
