Jimmie Hale Mission Serves 1200+ Meals, Needs Winter Supplies
The Jimmie Hale Mission in Birmingham served over a thousand Thanksgiving meals, including over three hundred delivered through their Meals on Wheels program. Nearly four hundred volunteers participated, making it a heartwarming display of community spirit. James Poe, executive director of the Missions Shepura Mens Center, shared that volunteering on Thanksgiving has become a cherished tradition. Sixteen-year-old Cameron Helms, who has volunteered since he was three, emphasized the joy of helping others. The Mission also opened its warming station for shelter from the cold, anticipating increased need for supplies like bottled water, soft fruits, and warm clothing throughout the winter months.
