Huntsville, AL Expands with 724 Acres Annexation

Huntsville, Alabama, is poised for further expansion with the city council set to vote on annexing three properties totaling seven hundred twenty-four acres. The largest of these, a six hundred eighty-six acre site, is proposed by Huntsville Center, Incorporated, and Grassy Pond, Limited Partnership, both led by John W. Hays and co-owned by developer Jeff Enfinger. If approved, this would be the citys second-largest annexation this year and suggest a significant future development. Two smaller annexations, a thirty-six-and-a-half acre parcel on Martin Road and a one-point-four-1 acre plot south of Sutton Road, are also on the table. If all are approved, Huntsvilles total area will exceed two hundred thirty square miles, rivaling the size of Chicago. DNN | The Daily News Now! The world’s first global local news network.
