Homelessness Rises as Jefferson County Program Ends
Jefferson Countys Continuum of Care program, which helped 585 people out of homelessness, has ended due to lack of federal funding. Tiffany Edwards, a mother of three, was one of the many who relied on this program. After receiving a letter stating her rental assistance would cease, Edwards struggled to find alternative resources, working twelve-hour shifts to keep a roof over her familys head. Despite finding a new job, she continues to face mounting bills and worries about her daughters disability payments. Many others, like Edwards, were left to navigate the changes on their own, highlighting the ongoing struggle for many affected by the programs closure. DNN | The Daily News Now!
