Afghanistan Withdrawal's Impact on Veterans & Western Values

The 2021 withdrawal from Afghanistan left a profound emotional impact on veterans, with a significant rise in suicidal thoughts and requests for support. The conflicts end highlighted the stark understanding of radical Islamic customs, such as public beheadings and child marriages, which are codified in classical Islamic jurisprudence. Senator Tommy Tuberville emphasized the incompatibility of radical Islam with Western values, citing examples like blasphemy punishable by death and the death penalty for converting from Islam. Following the Afghanistan withdrawal, approximately 180,000 Afghan nationals were brought to the U.S., raising concerns about potential risks, including incidents of violence and the enforcement of Sharia norms within parallel societies.
