Parenting Pressures, Inappropriate Teachers, and the Evolution of Comedy with Earl David Reed

Bill opens up about the challenges he’s facing with his son—and co-host Kevin doesn’t miss the chance to roast him for struggling with just one kid, while he wrangles three. The banter is classic, but the conversation takes a serious turn when the guys react to a disturbing story sent in by a listener: a male fifth-grade teacher writing an inappropriate letter to an 11-year-old girl. Bill plays part of the news report and asks the tough question—what would you do if this was your child or niece?

Then, comedian and entertainer Earl David Reed joins the show ahead of his performance at Comedy at The Carlson. Earl shares how he’s reimagining his comedy career, viewing himself more as a performance artist, and even getting help from a friend in L.A. to break down his material. The trio discusses how comedy has changed, what it takes to evolve, and why Earl doesn’t miss radio—plus, some hard truths about the stifling grip of middle management in creative industries.

From laughs to real talk, this episode dives deep into parenting, professionalism, performance—and why sometimes, the best reaction is to pause before reacting at all.
