Inter Miami Ends 5-Game Winless Streak | Messi Leads Miami Past Montreal: Postgame Reaction

FINALLY! Inter Miami is back in the win column.

After five consecutive matches without a victory and weeks of frustration surrounding this team, the Herons finally ended their winless streak with a much-needed victory over CF Montréal.

And once again, Lionel Messi delivered, this time with a hat trick.

On this Battered Herons Postgame Reaction, we’re breaking down Miami’s first victory in six matches and what was another huge performance from Messi when his team desperately needed it.

What makes this result even more interesting is the unusual situation surrounding the coaching staff. Guillermo Hoyos was unavailable because of his suspension, while newly appointed head coach Kily González has yet to officially begin coaching the team.

We’ll discuss what changed against Montréal, Messi’s performance, which players stepped up, whether we saw legitimate improvements or simply a better result, and what this victory means as Kily González prepares to take over.

One win doesn’t erase all of the problems we’ve discussed over the past several weeks. The goalkeeper, defense, midfield balance and overall construction of this team still deserve scrutiny.

But after five straight without a victory, we’ll take it.

The streak is over. Now can Kily González build on it?
