Week 1 of the Giannis Era + Previewing The First Preseason Game In Canada

The first week of the Giannis Antetokounmpo era in Miami is almost complete—and now we finally get to see this team play somebody else.

On this episode of Battered Heat Fans, we're breaking down everything that stood out during the first week of Heat training camp. Giannis and Bam Adebayo have already been battling one-on-one, Erik Spoelstra is beginning to figure out how his new superstar frontcourt fits together, and Miami's incredible depth is starting to become one of the biggest stories of camp. Spo has emphasized getting Giannis and Bam reps together during the preseason as Miami begins building its new identity. https://www.wflx.com

Then we look ahead to Saturday's preseason opener against the Toronto Raptors. What lineups do we want to see? How will Giannis and Bam look together against another team? Who starts alongside them? What does Klay Thompson's role look like? And which young players can force their way into Spo's rotation?

We'll also discuss Bam's response to the people who didn't want him chasing Kobe Bryant's scoring mark and touch on the early Kyrie Irving-to-Miami speculation—without pretending there's a trade happening.

Training camp gave us our first clues.

Saturday gives us our first look.
