Jonathan Huberdeau's Return Could Create A PROBLEM For Calgary Flames... | BB Clips

What's the plan for Jonathan Huberdeau and the Calgary Flames? Boomer, Pinder and Rhett Warrener discuss Huberdeau's future as the veteran forward returns to skating with the team while recovering from offseason hip surgery. With the Calgary Flames beginning to see contributions from their younger players, the boys question where Huberdeau fits into the lineup once he's healthy enough to return. Huberdeau is carrying a $10.5 million annual cap hit on an eight-year, $84 million contract, but should his salary guarantee him a spot in the everyday lineup? Would bringing him back mean taking valuable ice time away from a young player who deserves an opportunity to develop? The guys debate whether Calgary should prioritize its future over its highest-paid forward, what role Huberdeau could realistically play and whether the Flames might be better off keeping their current lineup together. As the organization continues to navigate its rebuild, the biggest question remains: what exactly is the plan for Jonathan Huberdeau?
