The Daily Herold: 8/18/26 - The NSA Deep State Memo and Trump's Favorite "Weaponized" Clip

Jon Herold breaks down a newly declassified 2020 NSA memo showing a deputy director delayed a foreign election targeting report for over a year out of fear it would brand the agency as "deep state," then replays what he calls his favorite Trump clip on the weaponized intelligence community to tie it all together. He questions why these releases seem to route exclusively through journalist John Solomon rather than being dumped raw like the JFK or Epstein files, and touches on last minute US-Canada tariff talks, a judge blocking the FBI's planned headquarters move, and a fake Los Angeles mayoral poll a firm admitted was a "social experiment." Other highlights include a rundown of odd primary season shenanigans across several states, some personal back to school stories, and a preview of tonight's Power Hour. Sponsor reads and a lively chat session round out a dense Tuesday show.
