Baseless Conspiracies Ep. 204: The Pizza Bomber, a True Crime Deep Dive

Jon Herold and Zak Paine open with some election security talk, digging into a new memo from the Secretary of War and a wave of recent wins on the CISA and SAVE database front, before Jon reveals he's more excited than usual for tonight's main event. For the first time, the show tackles an actual proven conspiracy rather than a theory, walking through the bizarre and tragic real life case of a pizza delivery driver who became an unwitting bank robber with a bomb locked around his neck. Nicknamed the Collar Bomb, it's a story with an eccentric mastermind, a house full of secrets, an accomplice with a screenwriting past, and an ending that shocked the entire country when it happened. Expect true crime rather than tinfoil hats this week, though the guys promise it's just as unbelievable.
