Jody McVeigh Shultz The Director Of Spy High On Amazon Prime Schools Really Are Watching Students

The 2025 SXSW TV Premiere Audience Award Winner Spy High is a four-part docuseries that explores the story of 15-year-old Blake Robbins, who filed a lawsuit claiming that his prestigious public school was spying on him when he was accused of selling drugs. Beneath this juicy suburban scandal lie more troubling revelations, with implications in a larger war over digital privacy being waged in schools today. From Mark Wahlberg's Unrealistic Ideas and acclaimed director Jody McVeigh-Schultz (McMillion$, Cheer, Shiny Happy People, and The Murders at Starved Rock), Spy High’s four binge-worthy episodes will premiere exclusively on Prime Video on April 8. In 2023, Jody was the showrunner of Amazon's most viewed documentary premiere of all-time, the acclaimed 4-part series Shiny Happy People. Before that, Jody directed and co-executive-produced HBO's three-part documentary series The Murders at Starved Rock, which received an Emmy nomination for best true crime documentary. Prior to that, he was supervising editor and a key creative force on HBO true crime doc series McMillion$, which was nominated for five Emmys – including best editing and best documentary series.
