During the pandemic, Etienne Labuschagne, a lawyer by trade, wrote and shared children’s stories with parents of young children for free. They were initially inspired by the grandchildren he hoped to read to one day. Now the lawyer-turned-High Court judge in South Africa has had his writings published in a book, Bedtime Stories For Clever Kids (Austin Macauley Publishers), sharing stimulating stories that teach, enlighten, and entertain children – and parents. “When you read the stories, you will see that they are not typical,” says the author. “Complex themes are introduced in a safe environment in order to broaden the minds of children.
