Ghislaine Maxwell Found Guilty of Sex Trafficking
A jury found Ghislaine Maxwell guilty on five of six counts related to her role in Jeffrey Epstein’s sexual abuse of minor girls between 1994 and 2004. She faces up to 65 years in prison. Former federal prosecutor and CNN Legal Analyst Jennifer Rodgers joins AC360 to discuss the verdict and explains why it was “a good day for justice.” Plus, the CDC predicts more than 44,000 new Covid-19 deaths over the next four weeks as cases continue to surge. The U.S. hit a seven-day average of 256,427 new coronavirus cases, blowing past the country’s previous record. Dr. James Phillips is the Chief of Disaster Medicine at George Washington University Hospital. He tells AC360 the rise in cases is “unlike anything” he’s ever seen, even at the peak of the prior surges.
