Three Lost at Sea One Survivor | Anchorage News

A skiff carrying three young men capsized near St. Lawrence Island, claiming the lives of two—Parker’s older brother and a cousin—while 15-year-old Parker clung to the overturned boat for hours before being rescued. The accident, caused by a tangled fishing line, left a grieving community in shock. Parker, who had hoped to earn money for a perm, survived through prayer and faith. In a moving display of unity, Alaskan villages fired into the ocean at 8:03 PM—the exact moment the tragedy struck—to honor the lost and mourn together.
