Seawolves Begin New Era Under Coach Thune

On November 7th, the University of Alaska Anchorage womens basketball team embarks on a new journey under head coach Matt Thune, following the departure of legendary coach Ryan McCarthy. Thune, who has been on the job since spring, is preparing the team for their season opener against Northwest University. Despite a more reserved coaching style, Thune maintains high standards and a strong focus on player care. The team, featuring new additions like Mahaila Harrison and Lillee Duffin, is eager to showcase their skills after a fast-paced preseason. With a strong bond and promising new recruits, Thune is optimistic about the upcoming season. DNN | The Daily News Now! The world’s first global local news network. Every city. Every story.
