A 67-year-old man, Charles Nikolas, remains missing after his boat flipped on the Kasilof River Sunday—his companion survived. Wildlife troopers, state parks, and emergency crews launched an immediate search, including a helicopter from Anchorage, but no sign of him was found by nightfall. The operation resumed Monday with the same teams and resources, still scouring the river by air, water, and land as they race against time to locate Mr. Nikolas.
