Fairbanks Food Bank Meets Turkey Goal, Needs More
The Fairbanks Community Food Bank successfully collected over one hundred and thirty-five thousand pounds of food for Thanksgiving, surpassing their turkey target and ensuring a festive meal for many families in need. The communitys generous donations and food drives, including a twenty-five thousand-pound collection by the Fairbanks Police Department, demonstrated their dedication to helping neighbors during the holiday season. Despite meeting the turkey goal, the food bank still needs donations of cranberries, dinner rolls, and yams. Hundreds of volunteers are working to sort and pack these items, which will be distributed at two locations on Wednesday, providing meals for twelve thousand to thirteen thousand people.
