East Anchorage Claims Boot Trophy | Anchorage News

East Anchorage shocks Bartlett 14-8 in a heart-pounding, emotion-filled showdown to claim the coveted “Boot” trophy for the fourth straight year — and their first win of the season. With the game honoring late lineman Aanoo Alo, every play dripped with intensity and respect. Bartlett staged a dramatic late rally, but a fumbled snap in their own territory sealed their fate. East’s game-winning touchdown came off a defensive fumble recovery, capped by a clutch pass from Travis Motoa to Niko Standifer — who dedicated the score to his late grandmother. Despite the nail-biting finish, Coach Jeff Trotter praised his team’s grit, calling this victory a turning point that will fuel confidence as they continue to grow.
