Dunleavy Appoints New Senators, Senate Republicans to Confirm

Governor Mike Dunleavy appoints George Rauscher and Cathy Tilton to fill vacant Senate seats, following the resignations of Mike Shower and Shelley Hughes. The appointments are pending confirmation by the Senate Republicans, who will meet this Saturday to vote. If confirmed, Tilton and Rauscher will resign from their House positions and be sworn in as Senators. Their departure from the House will trigger a new replacement process. Meanwhile, Republicans are also facing shifts in their leadership, with the Senate minority needing a new leader and House Minority Leader Mia Costello stepping down. DNN | The Daily News Now!
