Alaska Club's Women-Only Gym Closes, New Space Opens

Alaska Club for Women Closes: A Safe Space for Female Fitness EnthusiastsThe Alaska Club for Women, a beloved women-only gym in Anchorage, is shutting down on December first, leaving members in shock with less than two weeks notice. The club, known for its personalized greetings and readily available equipment, provided a unique environment for women to work out. The closure, due to decreased attendance and a shift in priorities, will be replaced by a twenty-one-plus strength training room and a youth and family recreation area. While the changes reflect growing demand, members express disappointment over the lack of transparency and notice, leaving a void for dedicated female-only fitness spaces in the area.
