Alaska Club for Women Closes, New Facility Emerges

The Alaska Club for Women, a long-standing women-only fitness center, is closing due to declining participation. The clubs management sees this as an opportunity to expand full-family recreation options in the West Anchorage area. The closure will allow for more inclusive programming and a broader community focus. The West Anchorage location will feature new strength training rooms, turf, weight training equipment, and a Fly Sport area for youth and family recreation. Loyal members will receive a complimentary one-year platinum upgrade to The Summit, another premier facility of The Alaska Club. DNN | The Daily News Now! The world’s first global local news network.
