Shamed Into Confession

When beloved Texas priest Father Patrick Ryan is found brutally murdered in a motel room, suspicion soon turns to James Harry Reyos — a troubled young Native American man who shocked investigators by confessing to the crime. But Reyos later recants, claiming guilt and shame over a secret relationship with the priest drove his false confession. This episode examines how remorse, religion, and repression combined to send an innocent man to prison for years.
