Sometimes this is due for necessity for resources, but more often than not it is an “enemy of my enemy” situation. There are many threats to the galaxy as a whole, and some are more all-consuming than others. Though there have been instances of Xenos and Humanity allying in the face of Chaos, there is no more unifying enemy than the Tyranids.
