Is the hype around Australia's athletics justified?

The Commonwealth games have wrapped up this week in Glasgow and once again Australia has done really well. Our athletes finished right on top of the medal tally, taking a whopping 171 medals in total. The Aussies were an absolute force in the pool, but Australia's success in track and field disciplines has got a lot of attention.
