Why John Longmire should coach Essendon and hire James Hird as assistant

Corbin Middlemas and Bob Murphy take a deep breath after the Hird x Essendon mania and apply a mix of logic and left field thinking to what the Bombers might do next. The boys have watched the Monday footy shows so you don't have to and they chat through the appeal of Longmire, the issues for other applicants plus why the Lions have to get a wriggle on, if Fremantle's young list hurts their premiership chances and why every St Kilda action has an equal and opposite reaction. ABC AFL commentators Corbin Middlemas and Ben Cameron are joined by a rolling squad of former AFL players and legends of the game to analyse matches, deep dive the stories dominating the footy landscape, recap game highlights and talk through the latest AFL ladder standings. Our squad of Aussie Rules legends runs deep with champion ex-players like Brett Deledio, Marc Murphy and Luke Ball, record-holding coach Mick Malthouse and many more. The team discuss everything from AFL games and fixtures, to the AFL draft and key players' performance, and of course our highlights of the year; AFL Grand Final and AFL State of Origin.
