The New Adventures of Sherlock Holmes

Starring Tom Conway & Nigel Bruce, depending on the broadcast era)

This week's double feature brings two gripping Holmes mysteries — one adapted from a late‑period Conan Doyle tale involving scientific obsession and unnatural behavior, and another steeped in danger, deception, and a chilling nickname whispered in the London underworld.

🧪 Episode 1: "The Strange Case of Professor Presbury"

A respected Cambridge professor begins exhibiting bizarre and increasingly dangerous behavior — vanishing at odd hours, receiving mysterious packages, and showing sudden bursts of animal‑like aggression. His daughter, terrified by the changes in her father, turns to Sherlock Holmes for help.

Holmes and Watson soon uncover a trail involving secret experiments, forbidden research, and a foreign correspondent whose influence over the professor is anything but benign. As Holmes pieces together the clues, he realizes that Presbury's transformation is no mere eccentricity — it is the result of a reckless scientific pursuit that has pushed the boundaries of nature itself.

A tense, atmospheric mystery blending Victorian science, psychological suspense, and classic Holmes deduction.

🕷️ Episode 2: "The Adventure of the Scarlet Worm"

A cryptic plea for help draws Holmes and Watson into a case involving a man marked for death by a shadowy figure known only as "The Scarlet Worm." The name alone is enough to send tremors through London's criminal circles — a signature used by someone who leaves no witnesses behind.

As Holmes investigates, he uncovers a web of blackmail, hidden identities, and a vendetta stretching back years. Every clue points toward a killer who strikes with precision, leaving behind a chilling symbol that serves as both warning and signature.

Holmes must move quickly to protect the intended victim, expose the mastermind, and unravel the meaning behind the Scarlet Worm's deadly calling card.

A dark, fast‑moving thriller with a classic Holmes payoff.
