A Copy of A Copy: Episode 105 - Willy Wonka/Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Car RayRob is back with brand new episode of their new podcast A COPY OF A COPY! This week, Ray and Rob are tackling remakes that seek to be more accurate to their literary source materials. They’re doing this by comparing a classic from their childhood with a remake that proved to be divisive for many viewers, the 1971 kids classic WILLY WONKA AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY and the 2005 Tim Burton remake CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY! Whether you’re comparing the performances of Gene Wilder and Johnny Depp, or the narrative and tonal accuracy of either film with Roald Dahl’s novel, opinion on both films vary wildly for viewer to viewer. Join Ray and Rob as they dissect both movies and their respective legacies and discover if the remake truly is inferior despite its relative faithfulness to Roald Dahl’s original vision!
