About
Born: February 1, 1979 in Etchojoa Municipality Died: November 25, 2006
In a career marked by raw, emotive power and an unmistakable off-key style, this Mexican singer rose to fame as the "Gallo de Oro" of Banda and regional mexican music. His unique sound, which included hits like "Vete Ya" and "Ebrio de Amor", often blurred the lines between traditional music and the darker, more provocative world of narcocorridos. Tragically, his life was cut short in a violent confrontation, allegedly at the hands of members of the notorious Los Zetas cartel.
