Formed in London in 1988, this influential English rock band has undergone a remarkable transformation from their early days blending Madchester and shoegaze sounds to a distinct style heavily influenced by British guitar pop legends such as the Kinks and the Beatles. With a string of critically acclaimed albums including Modern Life Is Rubbish, Parklife, and The Great Escape, they played a pivotal role in popularizing the Britpop genre and ultimately achieving massive success in the UK. Their chart-topping hits like "Girls & Boys" solidified their status as one of the most iconic bands of the 1990s.
