About

Born: December 5, 1932 in United States Died: May 9, 2020

This beloved children's classic has been delighting young listeners for generations with its catchy melody and repetitive lyrics, originating as an American nursery rhyme with a corresponding finger play. Released as a single from the 1982 album Rise and Shine by Canadian children's folk singer Raffi, the song has since been reimagined in various forms, including a 2016 picture book by Denise Fleming. The Wiggles also brought their own spin to the tune on their Wake Up Jeff album.
