Backups, Broadcast Blunders, and the College Sports Shake-Up

Craig Carton joins Brian Kilmeade for their Friday tradition to break down the week in sports and media. They dig into the NFL's backup quarterback chaos — from Jameis Winston's embarrassing Monday night performance to the surprising success of Drew Lock, Carson Wentz, and Michael Penix filling in around the league. The conversation shifts to CBS's NFL pregame show, where Craig pulls no punches on the Tony Romo situation and questions why the network's studio coverage has lost its edge. Then they tackle the Protect College Sports Act and the future of NIL — exploring transfer limits, booster vetting, agent fee caps, and what real reform could mean for college athletics. Plus, a quick take on Jalen Brunson's SNL hosting debut and why the show has lost its funny bone. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
