About

Born: January 1, 1977 in United Kingdom

Pioneers of electronic music, this influential English electronic band was formed in 1978 by Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys, blending experimental minimalism with catchy pop sensibilities to become a driving force in the synth-pop movement. As Britain's first performing two-piece synthesizer band, they played a key role in shaping the sound of the era and enjoyed early success in the US as part of the Second British Invasion. With a shifting lineup, the core duo of McCluskey and Humphreys remains the heart of the group.
