by Charles Dickens
In 1859, Charles Dickens launched his own newspaper, "All the Year Round". Unsurprisingly, Dickens included many short pieces by--guess who? Dickens was a reporter, a flaneur, and an insomniac, all three traits which prompted him incessantly to walk about, and observe. Thirty-seven of these stories he collected under the name of "The Uncommercial Traveller". - Summary by Mark Leder
