Yazoo

About

This influential synth-pop duo burst onto the scene in late 1981 with Alison Moyet's distinctive vocals and Vince Clarke's innovative keyboard work, releasing two critically-acclaimed albums that would go on to shape the genre. With their unique sound, Yazoo played a pivotal role in the emergence of synth-pop and its subsequent influence on the house music scene of the 1980s. Although the duo disbanded in 1983, their legacy lived on through Moyet's successful solo career and Clarke's work with Erasure.
