About
Formed in the mid 1950s by bass vocalist J.T. Carter, this influential doo-wop group made a lasting impact on the music scene with their unique blend of harmonies and energetic sound. With hits like "16 Candles" and "Step By Step," they achieved significant commercial success, including a gold disc for their million-selling single. Comprising members from diverse backgrounds, The Crests were one of the earliest racially mixed doo wop groups to gain popularity.
