About
Born: December 30, 1946 in Chicago
A pioneering figure in the New York City punk rock scene, this trailblazing singer-songwriter made a lasting impact with her 1975 debut album Horses, a fusion of raw rock and poetic expression. Collaborations like "Because the Night," co-written with Bruce Springsteen, catapulted her to mainstream success, topping the charts on both sides of the Atlantic. With a career spanning decades, she has continued to push boundaries and redefine the intersection of music and poetry.
