Born: July 20, 1945 in Los Angeles
With a career spanning over five decades, this American singer and songwriter has become a household name thanks to her chart-topping 1981 hit single Bette Davis Eyes. Her journey began in the early 1970s as a solo artist and session background singer, eventually leading to the release of her debut album Rest on Me in 1971. Notable early successes include the charting single You're a Part of Me and the award-winning song Love Comes from Unexpected Places, which took home honors at the American Song Festival and Tokyo Song Festival in 1976.
