About
Hailing from the vibrant island of Hispaniola, this genre of music is a captivating blend of French, African, and Spanish influences, shaped by the island's rich cultural heritage. Characterized by its unique styles such as rara parading music, twoubadou ballads, and compas, Haitian music is a true reflection of the nation's diverse history and identity. Born from the fusion of African migration and European colonial ties, particularly French influence, this genre has become a cornerstone of Haitian musical expression.
