About
From: Minneapolis
The iconic television series Dragnet was born out of a popular radio show of the same name, both created by and starring Jack Webb as a no-nonsense law enforcement officer. This crime drama took its name from a real-life police tactic, a dragnet, which involves a coordinated effort to catch suspects. The show followed the adventures of Los Angeles police detective Sergeant Joe Friday, played by Webb, and his partner Officer Frank Smith, played by Ben Alexander.
