How Will Josh Jacobs Backfield Shakeup Reshape the Packers' Offense — and Your Fantasy Draft Board

In This Episode:

The Packers just delivered one of the wildest preseason backfield shakeups we've seen in years, and Bloom & Cecil break down what it really means for fantasy managers heading into draft week.

Josh Jacobs has been placed on the Commissioner's Exempt List after new charges surfaced — and there's no clear timeline for his return. With a court date in mid‑November, Jacobs becomes a stash‑and‑pray option at best, and it's possible he's played his last down for Green Bay.

That opens the door wide for MarShawn Lloyd, who is now expected to be the RB1 to open the season. Lloyd's talent has never been in question — it's the durability. But after offseason work at the Meyer Institute correcting movement issues tied to his college ACL tear, he could be a massive fantasy hit if he stays healthy.

Green Bay also traded for Kaleb Johnson, adding depth behind Lloyd and Chris Brooks. Johnson profiles as the third‑string back, but his arrival signals how aggressively the Packers are trying to stabilize the position.

This is the kind of late‑August news that reshapes tiers, ADP, and draft strategy — and we're here to help you navigate it.
