Hailing from Issaquah, Washington, the solo project of Brian Leseney Fennell emerged after his tenure with indie band Barcelona. The artist debuted under the moniker SYML with an eponymous album released on May 3, 2019, through Nettwerk Records, marking a distinctive entry into contemporary folk‑influenced pop. Since then, SYML’s atmospheric sound has resonated across streaming platforms and radio playlists alike.
